Experiences & Trainings

US Fish & Wildlife Service

On 4/15/24 StoneWater Training partnered with @MTNTOUGH to work on mental & physical toughness with the US Fish & Wildlife Service.

We hammered on how to build a bomb-proof personal foundation, structuring a routine that maintains & improves well-being and practices drills to stay calm under pressure.

2023 Santiam River

StoneWater Training's Santiam Leadership Experience was an epic event set in the foothills of Oregon's Cascades and on the rugged Santiam River.

Vision - Communication - Planning - Execution/Accountability - Adaptability - Reflection

These were the skills discussed and practiced repeatedly with a dynamic team from all over the US and Canada.

Business owners, C-suite executives, operational managers and seasoned education specialists each brought their own experiences to the river and shared it with the team.

Adversity and obstacles came in all varieties: custom-designed by SWT, embedded in the environment and some straight out of left field (see the car fire, rescue story published by The Survival University).

Through it all, leaders practiced executing leadership skills and providing feedback to each other.  Skills got razor sharp until complex tasks that seemed unsurmountable before became easily achievable.

The Santiam crew left Oregon with their leadership skills honed through challenging practice, bonds formed from a series of shared challenges, meaningful lessons and applications for their teams and powerful memories.

2023
Seagen Misson Command Training

We had the privilege of training on the Principles of Mission Command with an awesome team earlier this month.

Mission Command is and agile way to lead a high performing team in a dynamic environment. It centers on the leadership vision and enables team members to take disciplined initiative to accomplish the task at hand.

The principles of mission command are universal and key to any high performing team succeeding in a rapidly changing situation.

They are:

Clear vision & intent (WHY?)
A baseline plan
Shared understanding across the team
Understanding and planning for risk
Disciplined initiative
Competent leaders & teams
Cohesive teams based on mutual trust

We discussed and practiced these principles in a dynamic, novel, competitive environment that took theory, practiced it and made it stick!
